In this DVD we travel by 4WD
campervan to what the Australians believe is the real Australia
- the Northern Territory. We start in Darwin, the most tropical
town of Australia, and also the capital of the Northern
Territory. From there we travel south to Litchfield National
Park to cool off in one of the fast flowing rivers or under one
of the many waterfalls. In Kakadu National Park we are amazed,
not only at the number and variety of waterbirds, the crocodiles
in Yellow Waters, but also by the famous Aboriginal paintings
from Ubirr and Nourlangie Rock. Back on the Stuart Highway we
visit Katherine Gorge, Mataranka with its hot water springs and
the most bizarre pub in Australia at Daly Waters. We travel the
long road to Boorooloola, an isolated part of the Gulf of
Carpentaria. Back again on the Stuart Highway we drive through New
Castlewaters, Tennant Creek, Devils Marbles, Wycliffe Well,
Barrow Creek, Aileron to Alice Springs and have now reached the centre
of Australia. From here on we investigate the East and West
MacDonnel Ranges and drive over the Mereenie Loop via
Hermannsburg to Kings Canyon. Ayers Rock and the Olgas are next
on our list. Back in Alice Spring we hand in over 4WV campervan.
As a last farewell, we take a spectacular hot air balloon ride
over the red centre and say goobye to Australia.
