The North of Vietnam

Our trip through the northern part of Vietnam begins in the capital city of Hanoi. It is perhaps the most beautiful city in Vietnam. The city lies in a bend of the Red River, and the centre, without highrise buildings, concentrates itself around the Hoan Kiem Lake. We leave Hanoi in a fourwheel driven car for a round trip through the mountainous north. First we visit the Parfumpagoda, a sanctuary situated in a mystic cave. After that our trip takes us along Mai Chai- Son La - Dien Bien Phu to Sapa. On the way we pass innumerable towns where the mountain people live. In Sapa we meet them at the market. Bac Ha is the next destination, where the colourful Flower-H'Mong go to the market on Sundays. Next we visit the natural wonder of Ha Long Bay and after that travel to another surprising world, the karstmountains of Tam Coc  In the middle of Vietnam we visit the old emperor city of Hue' with its Forbidden City and the old trading place of Hoi An  where the V.O.C went before us. We end this film among the temples of the Chamcity 'My Son '
