Baltic states

In this episode we travel to the Baltic States.  We start in Lithuania with the spa town of Druskininkai, followed by Vilnius, the capital of Lithuania.  Next we visit the historic castle of Trakai, the fortress of Kernave and we enjoy a historic trainrideinAnyksciai.  In Latvia we find ourselves inDaugavpils and the idyllic Kraslava, both locations have many Russian inhabitants.  We drive throughthe picturesque TaevaskojaNationalPark to arrive at Lake Peipus.  Narva is located on the most northeast point of the Baltic states, here we turn left to pass the coastal villages of Vosu and Kasmu on the way to Tallinn, the capital of Estonia.Following the coast we continuesouth and, after passing through Haapsula and the beautiful Gauja National Park, we reach Riga, the capital of Latvia.  Riga is considered to be the most vibrant city of the Baltic States.  After driving through the coastal towns of Ventspills, Liepaja, Palanga and Klaipeda we turn inland to visit the famous hill in Siauliai.  This hill is literally decorated with thousands of crosses.  Continuing through Tutuvenai and Kedainiai, we arrive at Kaunas where we say our goodbyes to the Baltic states, three countries with lots of space and a tranquil  natural landscape
